耶稣会士杜先生，讳德美，号嘉平，泰西拂郎济亚国人。缘慕贞修，弃家遗世。在会三十四年。于康熙三十九年庚辰东来中华传天主圣教。至康熙六十年辛丑十一月初一日卒于顺天府，年五十三岁。

Tomb of Father Du of the Society of Jesus
Father Du of the Society of Jesus, given name Demei, style name Jiaping, was a native of the country of Francia in the Far West. Driven by admiration for devout practice, he left his home and abandoned worldly life. He was in the Society for thirty-four years. In the 39th year of the Kangxi reign (1700), he came east to China to preach the sacred teaching of the Lord of Heaven. He passed away in Shuntian Prefecture on the 1st day of the 11th month in the 60th year of the Kangxi reign (November 29, 1721), at the age of fifty-three.
