耶稣会士汤先生,讳尚贤,号宾斋,泰西罗搭零日呀国人。缘慕洁修,弃家遗世。在会四十年。于康熙三十九年庚辰东来中华传天主圣教,至雍正二年甲辰二月初二日卒于顺天府,年五十六岁。

Tomb of Father Tang of the Society of Jesus
Father Tang of the Society of Jesus, given name Shangxian, style name Binzhai, was a native of the country of Lotharingia in the Far West. Driven by admiration for devout practice, he left his home and abandoned worldly life. He was in the Society for forty years. In the 39th year of the Kangxi reign (1700), he came east to China to preach the sacred teaching of the Lord of Heaven. He passed away in Shuntian Prefecture on the 2nd day of the 2nd month in the 2nd year of the Yongzheng reign (March 6, 1724), at the age of fifty-six.
