    罗先⽣讳雅⾕,号味韶,⼤西洋弥郎国⼈也。于明天启甲⼦年,来中华衍教。崇祯庚午年,上取修历。崇被戊寅年卒,寿四⼗有七岁,在会真修⼆⼗⼆年。

    Tomb of the Jesuit Father Luo Gong
    Father Luo, given name Yagu, style name Weishao, was a man from the great Western Ocean, the Kingdom of Milan.
    In the jiazi year of the Tianqi reign (1624), he came to China to spread the faith.
    In the gengwu year of the Chongzhen reign (1630), by imperial order, he worked on the reform of the calendar.
    In the wuyin year of the Chongzhen reign (1638), he died at the age of forty-seven,
    having cultivated true virtue in the Society for twenty-two years.

    Father Giacomo Rho, a native of Milan, a professed member of the Society of Jesus,
    in which he lived for twenty-two years, and for fourteen on the China mission.
    Having published many books, he greatly advanced the reform of the Chinese calendar.
    He died in Beijing on the 26th day of April in the Year of Our Lord 1638,
    at the age of forty-seven.
