    任先生讳重道,号致远,系大西洋意大利亚国人。自幼真修。于乾隆三年岁次戊午进京传教,卒于乾隆四年十一月初七日。在会二十一年,享年三十八岁。

    Tomb of Father Ren of the Society of Jesus
    Father Ren, personal name Zhongdao, style name Zhiyuan, a native of the Kingdom of Italy from the Atlantic Ocean. From a young age he has cultivated true faith. In the third year of the Qianlong reign, renwu year (1738), he came to Beijing to preach. He passed away on the seventh day of the eleventh month in the fourth year of the Qianlong reign. He was in the society for twenty-one years, and lived to the age of thirty-eight.

    Father Jacob Antonini, a Venetian of the Society of Jesus, having been professed in four vows, came to Beijing in the year of salvation 1738, where having been exhausted after a brief period, in the following year, he soon passed away piously on the seventh day of November in the Lord, with a great desire of him having been left behind. He lived for thirty-eight years, twenty-one years in the society.
