    耶稣会士翟先生,讳敬文,号慎中,泰西弗郎济亚国人。缘慕贞修,弃家遗世,在会二十年。于康熙三十八年己卯,东来中华,传天主圣教。至康熙四十年辛巳六月十五日,卒于口外蒙古,年三十七岁。

    Tomb of the Jesuit Father Zhai Gong
    Father Zhai, personal name Jingwen, style name Shenzhong, was a man from the Kingdom of France. Motivated by a desire for virtuous cultivation, he abandoned his family and worldly life, and spent twenty years in the Society of Jesus. In the jimou year of the thirty-eighth year of the Kangxi reign (1699), he came east to China to preach the Holy Catholic Faith. He died on the fifteenth day of the sixth month in the xinsi year of the fortieth year of Kangxi (1701) in Outer Mongolia, at the age of thirty-seven.
